Raccoon Removal
and Exclusion Services

Bay Area’s
#1 Rodent Exclusion Specialists

Raccoons are strong, persistent, and intelligent enough to remember where they found access once. An opening they used last year is an opening they’ll test again this year. Getting them out is only half the job. Sealing the structure so they can’t return — with materials that can actually withstand what raccoons do — is the part that actually sticks.

What They’re Looking For

Food brings them close. Shelter is what gets them into the structure. Open or loose garbage, compost, pet food left outside, and poorly secured dumpsters pull raccoons onto a property. Once they’re there, an attic is a high-value target, especially for a pregnant female in late winter looking for a denning site. A raccoon in an attic isn’t exploring — she’s committed. And if she gives birth there, the timeline for removal changes significantly.

How They Get In

Raccoons don’t squeeze through gaps the way rodents do. They force past weak points. Standard vent screens get pulled off frames. Soffit panels that have separated from the fascia get pried back. Flashing around chimneys and dormers that has lifted over time gets exploited. On the ground level, deck skirting and lattice panels get pulled away or the area beneath gets dug under.

An opening that a squirrel could use becomes an opening a raccoon can make significantly larger in a short amount of time. That’s why the material choice matters as much as finding the opening.

Why Standard Materials Don’t Hold

Thin mesh, plastic screening, and standard hardware store products aren’t raccoon deterrents — they’re minor inconveniences. A raccoon that found its way into a space before knows the area is worthwhile and will invest real effort into getting back in. We use heavier-gauge hardware cloth, properly secured at every edge, with reinforcement at corners and around any adjacent opening large enough to investigate. A loose edge or an improperly secured seam is an invitation.

The Attic Contamination Issue

Raccoons use a consistent area of an attic as a latrine, returning to the same spot repeatedly. The resulting deposits carry Baylisascaris procyonis — raccoon roundworm — whose eggs can survive on surfaces and in soil for years and are hazardous to humans and pets. Disturbing dried raccoon feces without appropriate protective equipment creates airborne risk.

Attic remediation after raccoon activity isn’t optional. Contaminated insulation needs to be removed and replaced. The area needs to be sanitized. This is a health issue, not just a cleanup task, and it needs to be handled correctly.

Handling Litters

Raccoon removal between February and late May needs to account for the possibility of a litter. A mother sealed out from young in a nest will cause significantly more structural damage trying to re-enter than she did getting in originally. Before any entry point is sealed, we confirm the attic is clear. If young are present, they’re removed and the entry point is sealed only after the space is confirmed empty.

One raccoon in the attic can cause thousands of dollars in damage. Call early.

Exclusion Services

Rodent problems don’t fix themselves—they get worse. Our complete exclusion services are built to remove infestations, repair the damage, and protect your home for the long term.

RATS

The most common call we get. Norway rats, roof rats — each behaves differently and requires knowledge of their habits to seal them out effectively. This is our specialty.

MICE

A mouse can squeeze through a gap smaller than a dime. Don’t underestimate a “small” mouse problem — a pair of mice can become a full infestation in a matter of weeks.

SQUIRRELS

Squirrels in an attic chew wiring, destroy insulation, and cause structural damage quickly. They’re persistent and need properly installed hardware cloth to keep out for good.

RACCOONS

Strong, intelligent, and capable of forcing through weak barriers. Raccoon exclusion requires heavier-gauge materials and careful attention to any opening large enough for them to exploit.

SKUNKS

Common under homes and decks. Beyond the obvious concern, skunks can damage foundations and landscaping. We seal their access points and address the situation without the drama.

WHY DONE RIGHT RODENT PROOFING

How We Work

Full Structure Inspection

We inspect the full structure from roofline to ground level, including eaves, vents, soffits, roof edges, the exterior perimeter, and any attached structures. We look for every opening a raccoon could use to get inside.

Every Entry Point Documented

We identify and document every point of entry and vulnerability—not just the opening the raccoon is currently using. Weak spots that are left behind can quickly become the next access point.

Sealed for Raccoons

We seal each opening with the appropriate construction-grade materials for the location, size, and access challenge. Raccoons are strong and persistent, so the exclusion work needs to be built to withstand them.

Interior Activity Addressed

Once exclusion is complete, we address any remaining interior activity and make sure animals have been properly cleared from the structure. We don’t simply seal an opening and walk away.

What
We Use

Construction-Grade Materials Only

Hardware Cloth –

for vents, openings, and larger gaps where airflow still needs to be maintained.

Galvanized Metal Flashing

for roofline, soffit, fascia, and other areas where raccoons can pry or chew.

Properly Secured Fasteners

screws and mechanical attachment rather than relying solely on adhesive.

Sheet Metal

around weak or damaged areas that raccoons could otherwise reopen.
